EU Law and Arbitration
The session will deal address the interface between European law and arbitration. Although arbitration is excluded from the scope of the Brussels Convention, the relationship between European law and arbitration is a matter of increasing complexity. The related issues will be explored by two panels. The first panel, focused on commercial arbitration, will examine topics such as antisuit injunctions and the application of EU mandatory provisions.  The second panel, devoted to investment arbitration, will discuss matters of current interest in this area, including the new investment dispute resolution system chosen by Europe, the enforcement of intra EU awards and investor-state dispute settlement reform.
