The Spanish Committee also aims to bring together all lawyers and lawyers' groups in Spain.
The Spanish Committee provides support to all its individual and collective members by channeling their concerns, projects and contributions to the organization, as well as encouraging them to participate in the seminars and the Annual Congress.
We hold two annual meetings (one coinciding with the Annual Congress) and organize a seminar every year. In 2017, we met in Bilbao (22-24 June) to discuss the theme of “International Arbitration: Current Perspectives” and in Barcelona (4 -5 May) to discuss “Legal & Economic Drivers of Real Estate.” In 2018, the theme of arbitration has been addressed once again. Furthermore, we plan to add two more seminars in 2019.
The Spanish Committee also aims to bring together all lawyers and lawyers' groups in Spain through a series of activities held throughout the year.
The Committee has received accolades, including the award of Best National Committee in 2016 and the title of Best Commission in 2017 for its Real Estate Commission, chaired by José Antonio Pérez Breva.
The Presidency Council met in Copenhagen (Denmark) last September 22nd where it proceeded to the indicative vote for the election of the Vice President of the UIA among the candidates Emad Hendawy (Egypt), Patricia Lopez Aufranc (Argentina) and Jorge Martí Moreno (Spain), being the winner our colleague Jorge Martí who will be proposed to the General Assembly to be held on October 30th 2018 during the Congress in Oporto.
