International Arbitration, Current Perspectives - 2nd Edition

For the second year, the UIA has joined forces with the Bizkaia Bar Association and the Civil and Commercial Arbitration Court (CIMA) to organise a seminar in Bilbao on topical issues in international arbitration. We will begin with a keynote  speech commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards – known as the New York Convention.

Over the course of these two days we will discuss the topic of Arbitration and jurisdiction, current issues in investment arbitration, and examine arbitration from the perspective of a company. We will also cover the specific characteristics of arbitration in various strategic sectors: construction arbitration, maritime arbitration (on which we had a very interesting round table last year), insurance arbitration and arbitration for sport.
