LABOUR LAW / IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY LAW – A Worker for All Seasons? Immigration and Labour Law Compliance in the Food Service Industry

  • 07/06/2024 - 9:15 - 10:15

Presentación

It often is said that immigrants fill jobs that citizens refuse, a simple statement that often is made concerning the food service industry, from agriculture to food processing to food distribution. Yet, underlying that simple statement is a complex matrix of immigration and labour law compliance. This session shall analyse that matrix, focusing on (i) seasonal worker immigration programmes, (ii) worker classification, (iii) enforcement of work authorization, (iv) fair labour standards, and (v) payroll systems.
