THE FAMILY AS A REALITY TO BE PROTECTED BY THE LAW AND THE DIFFERENT CONCEPTIONS OF "FAMILY" MODELS.

Présentation
In our societies, different family models coexist, reflecting cultural conceptions of the family from all over the world: unmarried couples, single-parent families, homo and heterosexual marriages, Islamic contractual marriages, polygamous marriages, etc. The causes are basically twofold: (i) the migration to a country of people coming from cultural, social and legal circles far removed from the receiving country; and (ii) the international dispersion of families resulting from the free movement of people and the globalization of companies. This introductory session examines the challenges for any legal system to protect constitutionally and legally all these "family models" that coexist in a given country. This is why a modern conception of the area should be called "Family Law".
