These three words were the cornerstone of the 25th anniversary of the World Forum of Mediation Centers at Val d’Europe, where the UIA gathered more than 70 participants representing 24 countries in all continents to avidly discuss local and international mediation developments. The World Forum brings together commercial mediation practitioners every 9 months to discuss the forefront of their profession and share skills and strategies across border, together with mediation users.
The choice of this year’s location was in many ways symbolic, given the strong interest shown by local leaders in the development of mediation practices, as exemplified by the 30 year public-private partnership established with the creation of the Disneyland Paris Park in the region. With the support of the Val d’Europe Agglomentation, as well as several other important partnerships, the Forum hosted a series of enlightening speakers, who highlighted the history of mediation in the region, the impact of mediation on entrepreneurship, mediation and conciliation in commercial disputes, and the future of the practice.
In light of the discussions that took place from June 21st to June 23rd, it is clear that mediation will continue to be innovative and pioneering, in the service of a quicker and more efficient justice.
