The New Challenges in Protecting Fundamental Freedoms and Human Rights
As defenders of human rights and protectors of fundamental freedoms, lawyers face nowadays new challenges that they need to overcome in order to fulfill their mission effectively. In this respect, we will focus on the current challenges concerning mainly:
- The prevention of torture, inhuman treatment and arbitrary proceedings in criminal cases,
- The legal support to victims of domestic violence and violence on social media,
- The protection against human rights violations in the workplace.
We will then determine the best and most efficient practices to deal with such challenges and talk about the evolving role of lawyers in upholding human rights and fundamental freedoms.
