The 2020s started with two tumultuous events: the Covid-19 pandemic and a European conflict that threatens to engulf the world. The pandemic has disrupted and altered migratory patterns for over two years, and catapulted remote work to the forefront of global mobility. In addition to severely disturbing the global oil and gas markets, in displacing millions of people from Eastern Europe, the war in Ukraine has created a global refugee crisis that may take years to resolve.
In the midst of these crises, immigration and estate planning lawyers have had to pivot quickly to meet the needs of their clients, both paying and pro bono.
