Right to life, a relevant foundation for environmental protection
In light of the increase in climate litigation, against States and companies, new ways of thinking and new legal concepts deserve to be studied to protect the right to life, inseparable from the right to a healthy environment.
Our session will focus on the following theme: “The right to life, a relevant foundation for environmental protection”.
In order to cover the main issues raised by this topic, the presentation will be divided as follows: The rights of future generations and generational equity in the field of environmental law; Human rights to protect the environment: the role of the ECHR and the IACHR; The right to live in a healthy environment as a limit to freedom of enterprise and the right to property; and finally, The rights of natural entities as a tool for better environmental protection.
This wide range of topics will be presented by eminent jurists, legal practitioners and professors, all specializing in these issues.
