These seminars involve some hot topics on cross-border transactions and several convivial social events.
The Japan National Committee is leading an expansion through a wide variety of activities in order to invite Japanese jurists into the international society of lawyers.
Jointly with the largest bar association in Japan, the Tokyo Bar Association (TBA), which has been a UIA firm member since 2015, the Japan National Committee has been holding annual UIA seminars. These seminars involve some hot topics on cross-border transactions and several convivial social events. The Japan National Committee then follows the seminars with a workshop for in-house legal counsels of corporations.
In February and March of 2017, with the assistance of local bar associations, the Japan National Committee provided significant support to the Winter Seminar held in Niseko, a famous ski resort in the north of Japan. Remarkably, this was the first Winter Seminar that took place in Asia.
By virtue of the rapid growth of Japan National Committee’s presence and its rigorous pursuit of activities over the years, we honorably won the National Committee of the Year Award at the Toronto Congress in 2017.
Both the 4th Tokyo seminar co-organized by UIA’s Foreign Investment Commission and the TBA and Japan National Committee’s mini-seminar are scheduled for March of 2019.
