The death penalty

This seminar organized by Algerian National Committee at UIA in collaboration with Boumerdes Bar, a UIA collective member, is intended as another discussion place on the subject of the death penalty, a long-overdubbed but never exhausted debate. Indeed this issue remains among the most controversial subjects of law, polarizing the various opinions, at national as well as international level. The seminar is also intended as a contribution to the long process of definitive abolition of death penalty in Algeria, a country belonging to a region which is subject to serious troubles threatening the values of freedom and human dignity. The distinguished speakers and participants that we thank for being with us will certainly make this seminar a highlight of fruitful and constructive debate.
