Presentation

Digitalization and the development of information and communication technologies, especially artificial intelligence, have affected all segments of life and work, including the work of lawyers. As AI increasingly becomes a necessary tool for the practice of law and in the legal system, all lawyers must acquire digital competence and digital skills to be able to respond to all challenges of modern society. Similarly, law schools must recognize that, with the advent of AI, traditional legal training and skills will not be sufficient for lawyers to successfully perform their duties. Therefore, law schools bear a special responsibility to re-think how they prepare students to enter the practice of law. This panel will examine what the future with AI looks like and how students and lawyers alike can best prepare.
