ARE ALL REFUGEES EQUAL?
Equality
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “all humans beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”. The right to be treated as equal and without discrimination on the grounds of gender, race, language, religion, political or other opinions, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth, or other status is not always protected or guaranteed in some jurisdictions. The Commission will examine breaches of equality from various perspectives, such as gender, sexual orientation, access to justice, immigration, race, and prison conditions.
