International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on 25 November, as UIA members and in the framework of our mission as human rights defenders, we are, each and every one of us, called upon to step up our efforts to act actively and effectively to eliminate all kinds of violence against women and to give our support to the victims of such violence, which has increased and amplified as a result of the containment measures put in place in different countries to contain the Covid 19 pandemic.

Our UIA Women's Committee attaches particular importance to improving the status of women where it is needed, and the fight against violence against women is among our priorities.

In this perspective, we will soon launch an action plan that we will implement with the support of UIA and the participation of each and every one of you as well as the UIA national committees and representatives.
