The UIA and LexisNexis Team up for a Series of Publications

The UIA is pleased to introduce the first three publications of the UIA-LexisNexis partnership:

The first book is entitled "Current trends in Start-Ups and Crowd Financing" (ed. Thomas Kulnig) and talks about the legal aspects of starting up and funding a business. Legal practitioners from various jurisdictions cover legal topics and trends relevant to start-ups and crowdfinancing and provide an overview on the currently booming start-up environment. This book is an attempt to cover the most relevant legal topics relating to startups and crowdfinancing, and is intended to assist legal practitioners in developing a better understanding of the concerns relating to startups and crowdfinancing. It should be a great read for any legal practitioner wishing to venture into the start-up and crowdfinancing world.

The second book is entilted "Compliance - Challenges and Opportunities for the Legal Profession" (ed. Guido de Clerq). This book introduces its readers to compliance and its fundamentals. Many interesting and crucial topics are addressed such as the challenges to compliance, the emergence of internal control and compliance systems within companies, and tools that may assist a company in compliance management. It gives more details about the views expressed by the panellists and speakers at the 2016 Budapest Congress. These views reflect the way in which legal practitioners in various jurisdictions are dealing with the compliance agenda. This book is their testimony, based on their daily experience in the field.

The third book’s title is "Recognition and Enforcement of Judgements and Arbitral Awards: Recent Trends and Developments".This book illustrates some recent developments about recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitral awards from both a domestic and a cross-border perspective. It gives particular reference to the current trends concerning these principles in EU Regulations and international Conventions.
