Is it necessary to approach family businesses differently?
Shareholders agreements in family businesses, managing shareholder relationships
One of the struggles in family businesses is the need for institutionalisation to remain sustainable and secure succession, as well as to prevent or minimising the fields and effects of disagreements between family members in decision making. What can be the proper form of institutionalisation and when to start? What can be efficient and binding legal instruments to have binding effect and sanctioning power over the relevant family members if necessary. One solution can be the shareholders’ agreements like in all other businesses.
