Social Media: A Threat to Women's Rights?

The Covid-19 pandemic and confinement measures implemented in different countries caused an increased use of social media, which was sadly accompanied by an increased rate of online violence against women. In this regard, we will address the following topics:

1- Online violence against women
We will identify the different forms of online violence against women, its consequences on women's wellbeing and health, and the appropriate measures to stop it.

2- Can social media be a tool to advance women's rights?
We will examine the extent to which social media can be leveraged to support women's rights, prevent violence against women, and provide a safe space for victims to seek help and protection.
