Joint event : Administrative Law Commission, the Labour Law Commission and the Environmental and Sustainability Law Commission

Public procurement may play a key role for achieving that awarding of public contracts is efficient and transparent, as well as for a better protection of social and environmental rights.
In Europe, in accordance with the ‘Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth’, public procurement is intended as a market-based instrument to be used to achieve smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
Directive 2014/24/EU on public procurement introduces developments in relation with the awarding of public contracts and the integration of social and environmental provisions.
Contracts should be awarded based on objective criteria that ensure compliance with the principles of transparency, non-discrimination, equal treatment and environmental protection.
These considerations will be discussed in this session, where experts from the organizing Committees and from different jurisdictions will take part.
Assistants will have the opportunity to participate in the discussion and submit their questions.
